During my lunch break, I watched Teyana Taylor reel me in with her GQ video about the things she cannot live without—candy, glasses, wallet, her Louis Vuitton case, etc. So I thought, Who said that celebrities are the only ones who can do this? I’m going to make one, too. You can learn a lot about a person by the objects that they value.
My Kindle - cheating a little on this one because I can’t just pick one book or two. I’m downloading every book under the sun into this slim piece of technology. Do not ask me how much Dramione fanfic exists on here.
Decaf black tea or rooibos tea - I drink tea daily, and it’s gentler on my stomach than coffee. It doesn’t solve my problems, but it certainly grounds me.
A notebook - to journal, write some good and bad prose, make lists, contemplate the merits of peanut butter versus almond butter. Technically, I could try writing a manuscript by hand. Would I want to? No.
A Pilot 0.5 mm ballpoint pen - for said writing. Or if my dad needs me to sign a document from TD Ameritrade. Or if you need one.
Lip balm - I swear by anything from Laneige. Most recently, I also got the cinnamon bun lip mask from Trader Joe’s, which is an excellent Laneige dupe! There’s a lip product in every purse I own.
My emergency kit - it’s a catch-all for any chronic illness flare-ups and other essentials, packed inside a peach-printed Baggu bag. There are lidocaine patches, Advil, Dramamine, maxi pads, a glasses wipe, menstrual cramp cream, Tower 28 SOS spray, face moisturizer, hand lotion, allergy medicine, CBD suppositories, Glossier You travel-size perfume to smell good even if I don’t feel good.
Stuffed animals - they’re like therapy dogs; cuddling with them comforts me so well. When the world gets too dark, I can always play with them, too.
Three kinds of snacks - a Chomps stick for protein, two granola bars to eat when I’m cramping badly (for day 1 and day 2 of menstruation), and an 85% dark chocolate bar. I’m basically powered by dark chocolate and tea.
A heating pad - it’s one of the most effective ways to get me pain relief. Bonus points if it gets hotter than Hades.
Headphones - I listen to music so much, these are definitely a requirement. Lately, “Basic Being Basic” by Djo and LANY’s new album Soft have been on repeat!

How did I miss this adorable post?!
